About 'diets uk'|New UK women’s magazine bans skinny models and diet tips

As               if               there               wasn't               enough               of               a               reason               for               children               to               eat               less               sugary               foods,               now               a               study               by               Cardiff               University               found               that               10               year               olds               who               consume               sugary               foods               on               a               daily               basis               are               more               likely               to               have               a               conviction               for               a               violent               crime               by               the               time               they               are               34               years               old.

Actually,               approximately               30               percent               more               likely               to               have               a               conviction               for               a               violent               crime               by               the               age               of               34               if               daily               sugary               treats               were               consumed               as               a               child.

But               what               accounts               for               this               result?

Researchers               are               puzzled               as               perhaps               the               daily               consumption               of               sugary               foods               indicates               a               child               who               has               poor               impulse               control               or               perhaps               parents               needed               to               use               sugary               treats               more               frequently               to               try               to               modify               behavior.

Or               could               possibly               and               addiction               to               sugary               items               somehow               cause               aggressive               behavior?

The               so-called               "Twinkie               Defense"               involved               a               defendant               discussing               their               abnormal               consumption               of               junk               food               in               the               context               of               a               depressed               state.

Such               defenses               relating               to               the               consumption               of               sugary               foods               are               often               derided               by               the               general               public               as               a               bogus               defense.
But               could               there               be               a               valid               causal               link               between               a               sugar               rush,               or               decades               of               eating               sugary               foods,               and               violence?

Researchers               postulate               that               psychologically               children               who               eat               sweets               on               a               daily               basis               are               unable               to               delay               gratification               and               develop               impulsive               behavior.

However,               could               sugar               have               another               more               powerful               effect               on               brain               neurochemistry?
Parents               have               noticed               for               decades               that               some               children               become               hyperactive               after               eating               a               sugary               treat.

Most               of               us               have               experienced               a               "sugar               rush",               so               it               appears               that               on               a               short               term               basis               sugar               does               have               a               marked               effect               on               brain               chemistry.

But               what               does               the               long               term               effect               of               repeated               sugar               rushes               have               on               brain               neurochemistry?

Sugar               has               potent               effects               on               other               areas               of               the               body               and               in               diabetes,               sugar               flows               uncontrolled               through               the               body               damaging               blood               vessels               causing               blindness,               heart               disease,               as               well               as               neurological               disorders.
While               the               food               industry               will               likely               deride               this               recent               study,               continuing               research               should               be               done               on               the               link               between               sugary               foods               and               violent               behavior.

It               nothing               else,               it               is               another               reason               for               parents               to               limit               the               amount               of               sugary               foods               in               their               children's               diet.
